Premier Energy Group History
Established in 2012, the company underwent a name change to Premier Energy PLC, known as Premier Energy Group. Committed to growth, development, and sustainability, we continued our evolution as Premier Energy PLC through strategic mergers and acquisitions, expanding our expertise and business areas. We are dedicated to driving the transition towards cleaner, greener energy solutions. Through our comprehensive range of renewable energy services, including power purchase agreements and project development, we actively contribute to creating a more sustainable world for future generations.
Premier Energy Group Structure
Romania gas distribution and supply
In 2013, Premier Energy Group entered the Romanian gas market through different acquisitions, swiftly becoming the 3rd distributor. Engaging in gas distribution, supply, and network maintenance, it serves both households and non-households, also selling gas to industrial customers beyond its concession network.
With 124 natural gas concession areas across Romania, and with a distribution network spanning almost 4,000 km, the majority capable of supporting green hydrogen distribution, the natural gas concessions strategically cover areas around Bucharest and the southern and western regions of Romania, including remote areas with anticipated demand growth. The recently unbundled and rebranded NeoGas Grid business distributed natural gas to over 166.000 customers.
Electricity supply in Romania
Romania’s renewable electricity generation and supply
Premier Energy Group entered the renewable energy sector in 2022, rapidly expanding through acquisitions and developments. Our expertise extends to project development for greenfield initiatives, as well as project management for ready-to-build renewables projects, facilitating the transition to sustainable energy solutions.
In addition, Alive Capital, offers comprehensive asset management solutions, from administrative tasks to contract management and reporting, enhancing operational efficiency. We are one of the largest renewable energy suppliers and aggregators, with a robust presence in generation, distribution, supply, asset management, and aggregation services.
In the period January and December 2023, Premier Energy Group supplied over 0,52 terawatt-hours of renewable energy to end clients in Romania, demonstrating our commitment to sustainable solutions (Source: ANRE website).
Republic of Moldova electricity distribution and supply
In 2019, Premier Energy made its mark in the Moldovan energy market with the acquisition of assets from Naturgy, the Spanish energy group. Since then, we have emerged as the largest electricity distributor and supplier, catering to more than 70% of the Moldovan population.
Is the largest distributor and supplier of electrical energy in Moldova. Premier Energy Distribution S.A., one of two distributors in the country, manages a network covering about 35,850 km, serving almost one million consumption points in 16 districts and the capital city, Chisinau.
